Session 2 Start Up – July 25

The VYCC’s second session begins Saturday, July 25th! Corps Members should be at the West Monitor Barn in Richmond, VT by 9:30am. Upon arrival, Corps Members will meet their crews, fill out W4 and I9 forms, receive any requested gear, and prepare for an incredible four weeks of hard work and good times!

Please bring the appropriate forms of identification to fill out your I-9 form during start up. You will not be able to work or join your crew without these items! Bring one piece of identification from list A and one original piece of identification from list B.

List A (Choose one)
1. State drivers license
2. Student identification card with photo
3. Draft card
4. Voter’s registration card
5. School record or doctor’s record (if under 18)

List B (Choose one)
1. Original social security card
2. Original birth certificate
3. US passport

If you have any questions about forms of ID, gear, or general questions about your Crew, please contact Kris at kristin.smith@vycc.org or 802.434.3969 x122. Each Corps Member’s Crew Leaders for the session will call him/her a few days before the Crew starts to introduce themselves and answer last minute questions.

Crew Closure Details

Friday, July 17th, 2009

First session crew closure is Saturday, July 18th! Roving and Wilderness Corps Members will need to be picked up from the VYCC Headquarters in Richmond, VT. Please arrive at the West Monitor Barn at 10:45 a.m. so we can start our closure activities promptly at 11 a.m. A picnic lunch will be served, while a First Session slide show will illustrate our crews’ accomplishments! Corps Members will be free to leave any time after the start of the lunch at 12 p.m. noon.

Directions to the VYCC Headquarters in Richmond, VT:

From I-89 Northbound, take Exit 10 (Waterbury). From the exit ramp, turn left on Rte. 100 South towards Waterbury. At the stop sign, turn right on Rte. 2 West and drive approximately ten miles. The West Monitor Barn is located on the right side of Rte. 2, one mile after Jonesville.

From I-89 Southbound, take Exit 11 (Richmond). From the exit ramp, turn right no Rte. 2 East towards Richmond. The West Monitor Barn is located on the left side of Rte. 2, two miles after the light in the town of Richmond.

Hard to believe, but our first session Crews are wrapping up week three! To celebrate their hard work, our crews will host Open Houses for interested family members and friends. Not sure what your son or daughter has been up to over the last three weeks? Want to see how much a VYCC Crew can achieve in only a couple weeks?? Open houses are the perfect time to say hi to Corps Members and experience the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps! Below is a list of each Crew’s Open House date and location.
